ON HAWAIIAN TIME EP 004 – On May 3, 2018 a volcanic eruption began in the middle of the Leilani Estates subdivision on the Big Island of Hawaii. Mick Kalber and Bruce Omori flew in a helicopter nearly every morning, of the over three month long eruption, documenting the movement of the lava. Mick and Ann’s home in Leilani Estates was threatened throughout the event. On this special anniversary episode, Mick & Bruce speak to Ryan Finlay, founder of Hawaii Tracker, an online group that played a huge role in providing information and news to the community regarding this historic eruption that destroyed hundreds of homes and displaced thousands of residents.
